I checked out the official reddit app just out of curiosity. What a shit show. It felt like half the posts were ads or “recommended” posts. Spent a whole 5 minutes before deleting. Relay or nothing.

I know it is a smaller community, but it feels nice to be able to comment and actually be(e) seen instead of instantly buried. No more are the times of having a fully typed out comment, only to delete it thinking no one is going to see it. Just based on that fact alone I am loving it, and have recommended it to a few of my friends.

Either Library Genesis for ebooks, or thriftbooks.com. Also some local used book stores, like Half Price Books (not sure if they are everywhere?)

Thrift Books is nice because you can choose the edition you want, if they have it available. Also you might get nice surprises occationally. I ordered Fall of Hyperion by Dan Simmons and ended up getting an autographed copy. You can also earn credits for free books, and it’s free shipping on orders over $25(?), so I usually order 4-5 at a time. (Not an ad, I just really like thriftbooks lol)

Do you use anything in specific to track your to-read list?

I find if I plan too far ahead I start to get distracted with what I’m currently reading. If I see an interesting book, I might make a note of it, but I think maybe 10 books ahead, let myself catch up, and then pick some new ones.

I do have to stop myself from weekly half price trips though.

Finding a book of short stories by an author or in a genre you like might help. Something with low time commitment. If you don’t like a story, skip onto the next one.

I also second audiobooks though. Listened to more books lately than I have in quite awhile. It’s handy when you have some other things to do, just throw in some headphones.

I usually listen to an audiobook at work, and read at home. Listening to Pebble in the Sk by Isaac Asimov, about to move into the Foundation series, and am reading The Dark Forest by Cixin Liu. The more sci fi the better!

The Steam Deck has its own installer for RetroArch called EmuDeck. Streamlines the whole installation, and has emulators all the way up to the Switch. Also has a quick setup for Prime Hack, and everything is very well documented.

Antichamber was fantastic. Can’t speak highly enough of that game. Scratched the portal itch perfectly, just wish there was more of it.
