Realistically, Ben Johnson will probably coach the Chargers or the Bills next year. Unless the bolts do something stupid like hire belichick and bills retain Mcdermit.
The Bears hopefully will be the second or third best job open.
Bills (if they lose in the divisional round).
Chargers - proven franchise qb and lots of pieces.
Bears - QB and two high draft picks. Need to build the lines.
Panthers - might have a QB in place, basically need everything else on offense.
Commanders - feels like a rebuild is needed but coaches are propping them up as much as they can.
Raiders - total rebuild.
Patriots - total rebuild.
Wild card head coach firings Bucs or Titans.
Keep in mind lions will be a playoff team so bears will need to wait. If the bears miss out on Johnson then Bobby Slowik is a really interesting candidate who is from the Shanahan tree. Both of these guys have demonstrated so far the got the offense to players they have in place.
Bears can also look at Kellan Moore (yuck), Jim Harbaugh (yawn and not really an offensive guru), Brian Johnson of the eagles (hasn’t put his mark on the eagles imo), Eric Bieniemy (Poles wouldn’t even interview him two years ago, so something major would have to change).
