I think for me it is mostly visual things. Clothes, colour, decor etc
After I wrote that post that is exactly what I thought! What colour do you like? Colour for what?? A room, hair, a vase, etc etc??
I have definitely had multiple experiences in my adult life where people expected me to be excited and we’re disappointed by my reaction, I think I am very happy but not visibly excited even if I am inside.

That’s quite surprising, the stable builds were always very stable for me. I used to DJ several times a month in public for 4-6 hours at a time and only had a problem when I tried to run beta builds, which was admittedly a stupid idea.
It’s really surprising this doesn’t already exist. It’s such a hated piece of tech, I would have thought someome would have thought they could do better! I don’t know enough to do it myself but I’d sure as hell support a project to do it!

Never heard of MBone, thanks for sharing. I think the fact that there is currently basically one successful video streaming service is indicative of how hard it is to run one. The bandwidth and performance it takes is huge, so unless a federated service is a paid-for service or receives huge donations there are never going to be enough resources to anywhere near match the performance of YouTube.
Started a rewatch of Am I Being Unreasonable, as the new series is out soon
I’m not doubting which thing is worse, dementia is certainly worse, I just mean that we don’t know how affective the drug is against dementia.
Depends what the comparative offsets are
Increased risk of arthritic conditions sounds pretty bad…
I literally can’t think of a scientific use case where lossy compression would be acceptable?
