I take it you haven’t played Pentiment

I’m of a firm opinion that no game needs a remake. Fixing up old games so that they can be played on modern systems - yes please. Remaking the same game but “”“better”“” - no thanks, I’d rather see something original and new come out
There are some exceptions like Pathologic 2 which is basically a remake but also a reimagining, but those are exceedingly rare.

DX12 games suffer a pretty hefty performance penalty on NVIDIA videocards. It’s getting better with the new drivers and recent fixes in Proton, but for now if you own NVIDIA - it’s usually on par or below Windows performance, for the more recent games. Still acceptable in my case tho

I’m still in my first timeline, but I have already
Can highly recommend

Does it get to occupy it for pouring their money into finally making gaming on Linux viable?

I hate Denuvo as much as the next guy but it’s literally Steam Deck Verified

Yeah, I simplified it to keep it at ELI5 level, but you’re right

It does so at the cost of latency. It does not actually predict the next frame, it renders two full frames and then interpolates one frame between them. So it looks smoother but your input also takes that much longer to be displayed on the screen

she’s eepy, chilling in her cat bed since it’s rainy outside

It’s WashedBlue: https://iczelia.net/about/#my-setup

Her blog is worth a read: https://iczelia.net/

The games are great, if only he could, like, not open his mouth…

There’s ntfs3 and ntfs-3g, both have their own problems. I wonder if the new one will make it possible to run fsck scans

I’m playing Archolos, which is a free fan-made game on the Gothic 2 engine (you still need to own Gothic 2 tho). It’s like 60 hours long and I’m only 12 hours in and just got into the city. The quality is pretty incredible for a fan-made game, I think I’ll be playing through it for the next 2 months at the very least

One of my cherished memories is when a friend of mine came over, smoked a blunt, watched the first 15 minutes of me playing Inside and then promptly fell asleep, after which I proceeded to spend the next 3-4 hours beating the game to completion in one sitting with his snoring in the background.
I don’t think anything listed as an alternative in the blog post provides the “Docker for LLMs” ease of access, unless I’m missing something?

Archolos plays great, though I had to create my own control mappings. Still can’t figure out why the hardware accelerated cursor pops out when I use the trackpad as a mouse though, but not much of an issue, since I rarely have to touch it.
Also some Hades 2 and a fan mod on FTL, called Multiverse

Surprisingly solid fan-made Gothic 2 (on the Gothic 2 engine)
Besides that - Heart of the Machine, a weird mix of 4X, RPG and a VN https://store.steampowered.com/app/2001070/Heart_of_the_Machine/
I’m too dumb to beat it, but it’s genuinely great
