I think Europe really needs to come up with an open source publicly funded alternative to the Google and Microsoft ecosystems.

I ended up blocking them both because lemmy.ml is full of tankies and lemmy.world is America centric despite the name.

Yeah, it sucks though that for 95.5% of “the world” we don’t even have distinct politics or news subs in an instance called lemmy.world. I’d really like to find a place where I can read about the politics or news of the actual whole world (including the US) and ironically none of these are that.

politics@lemmy.us should be about US politics… America isn’t the world.

I’d love to use it but for some reason it can’t find my location. Other apps can though.
