I don’t think it’s really fair to include “Biden” alongside “Bush” and “Clinton” and NOT include “Harris”, just to make a point. The point is the Bush and Clinton represent two people each, a dynasty as it were. Biden is just one person. You might as well add then Harris since she has served as VP just like Biden, or Trump but I get the feeling this is intended to somehow make the statement that Harris represents a new breed of politics, a break from the old. That may or may not be true, but it doesn’t hinge on this meaningless metric.

The problem with conservatism though is that their voters will think this is a good thing. Taxes are bad full stop, so these companies are clever by lowering their tax bill. They don’t see that the salaries are obscene. Then they complain about public services and infrastructure being bad.

He did say “most”. But even if you live in an apartment you may not know it’s possible to charge at a home, just not necessarily your home. So it’s still valid even if apartment dwellers don’t benefit. I think it is true that “most” people think you have to find a charger and then sit there for an hour everytime you need to charge when in fact you rarely need to do a full charge from 0, and if you have a home charger, rarely need to find a charger. Charging stations are only needed when you are travelling long distance and not many people are doing that routinely. If you are then buy an ICE or plan longer journeys.

I think the biggest benefits though are much cheaper driving and instant, consistent power: no turbo lag, no gear changes, much quieter inside. I do occasionally have range anxiety, but then I’ve almost run out of fuel in an ICE before due to bad planning and closed service stations, so it is what you make of it.

There isn’t a good solution right now for apartments, but in Norway they had the idea to make street lights dual purpose with charging points inside. I think that could make life easier for everyone. They wouldn’t be fast chargers, but it would replicate the home charger capability for those who can’t have them. Infrastructure needs to catch up but I don’t miss queuing for fuel.

How about a compromise . An execution style murder.

Surely the day is approaching where enough Americans have been personally affected by gun violence that there are more that have than haven’t. I often wondered if the reason it persists is because it is something that happens to other people so there is no feeling of urgency to put it at the center of politics. I just wrote a big long reply before I realised all I need to say is that you are on the verge of having your first female president and you want to wallow in the fiction that the bad guys represent not just the USA consensus, but the whole world? You know they don’t. Chances of a female leader in the USA in 1920s? Zero. 2020s? You’ve already had one female politician who won the popular vote in 2016 and now have one who might win the whole thing. If you are willing to look outside the USA you might notice there are a few counties who already beat you to it… by decades. While things are by no means equal. Stop acting like we’ve made no progress.

The justification your are supplying about the diminished influence of record labels makes sense and logically I can see that probably means the sound of the decades I listed was less organic and more manufactured. I also feel that there is probably less air for experimental genres to establish and become dominant like in the past.
