Wow, think of all the profit being made on the interest, not to mention the profit being made on the clinics and hospitals and the pharmaceuticals. A great system that benefits everyone except ordinary Americans at whose expense it runs.

Ah great, and then you can go after the ones the AI tells you are most likely to become “pro-Hamas” at some point in future. And then all the ones who are likely to harbor anti-Nazi views.
Funny, it’s exactly what Putin said about Ukraine. That and “It’s not a real country,” which Elon Musk recently said of Canada.
Yes, the first thing Canadians can do to protect Canada is not vote Conservative. Unfortunately, Ontario doesn’t seem to have figured that out yet.
Oh well. Do both.
I’m boycotting Amazon and other US companies as much as I can until the USA backs off from plotting to seize my country and torment (or worse) my trans relatives and friends. No more purchases from US companies; no more subscriptions to US services; no more investments in US funds.
And control of all this water, important strategically for Russia, I mean the USA. And Russia.
It’s good for those who profit from manipulating markets though.
“Justice Department” is sounding more than ever like Newspeak.
Vivaldi is a very good browser, but if you want to support open web standards it would be better to use a non-Chromium-based browser like one of the Firefox derivatives. Also Vivaldi is closed source. Still, I do like Vivaldi.
Canada, please do the same.
Or can he promise one positive thing for Canada? All I hear is “I’m not Trudeau” and attacks on the Liberal leadership candidates. Poilievre doesn’t appear to have any interest in actual government.
Then again, Ontario elected Doug Ford’s Conservatives three times in a row without them telling anyone what they planned to do. People are weird.
Canada should take advantage of this situation to hire US scientists and doctors too.
Same reason they talk about Elon Musk and Steve Bannon’s strange and mysterious extension of the right arm palm down at a 45 degree angle.

Or maybe they just can’t help being total assholes 24/7.
When it comes to the protests against Israel’s genocide, the track record of US universities is not good. Universities have been so terrified of losing lucrative Israel-connected sponsorship that they are the first to call for harsh punishments for the students. So I wouldn’t count on university administrations to push back hard against this assault on free speech, rather than taking it out on the students.
It has to be done carefully because, as anyone smarter than a Republican knows, tariffs tend to cause economic damage at home.
Buddhism talks of three poisons of the mind which inevitably create suffering: greed, hatred and ignorance. Turns out, a government based entirely on these doesn’t make things better.
I don’t think it’s hopeless, but it requires organisation to spread this understanding among people who won’t go looking for it and may be initially hostile to it. The basics of class consciousness are not that hard to grasp if presented clearly. The challenge is how to get people listening at all. You can’t just have some college-educated stranger start shouting this at people. It requires building a political movement skilfully, bit by bit, among working-class people who can take ownership of it.
