I’m pretty sure it’s not just the mods/admins.
Blotting shit out.

Some kind of void creature was forming earlier and it got whited out by a bot army.
Because they have not experienced the cruelty of what they are supporting. . . yet. The moment they do, they’ll cry and whine that it’s affecting them.
See Florida stopping permanent alimony and the blow back from Republicans that are shocked it’s affecting them.
While Threads is federated social circles and communities will have time to form. Thread users will by nature of having the support of a corporate juggernaut, be the lions share of users on the 'verse. When threads pull the plug, the Fedverse becomes a ghost town overnight and everyone not on Threads will be forced to migrate if they want to keep their social circles and communities intact.
Here is an example of a corpo dealing a blow to an open source project. The article covers an example of Microsoft and Google killing a competing open source project(s).

Also here is a blog post about how Google killed the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) using extend, embrace, extinguish.
Yep.
The echidna got into a fight with something, no clue what. This was what was on all three pages of the combat log.
We are going to bottle the heat and return it to the sun!
Mods are kicking them out and the users are down-voting them.
I do not understand why people are giving trolls this much power.
And an option to sort by controversial would be nice.
Also add an option to sort by the number of downvotes.
More sorting options would be a nice addition. Although, being able to treat down-votes similarly to upvotes might encourage more bad behavior. I kind of want to see such a system tested.
Dude, it is one community with a whopping 9 subscribers and every single post is sitting at negative.
Y’all need to calm down.
Exactly, defederation is a nuclear option that affects everyone on both instances.
That is ignoring that instance owners can decide for their users what instances they can and cannot engage with. Which is fine, it is their server they can manage it how they like. That is not the user deciding how to interact with other instances and communities.
I see the whole federation as a bit of a paradox. Users are allowed and encouraged to interact with other instances and communities as they please. However, if the instance a user belongs to decides to defederate from another instance. Users now have to create another account to keep interacting with that instance. Which kind of defeats the purpose of federation. Now users are forced to create an account for each instance they want to continue interacting with.
The community in Beehaw are all cool people, but their weird rules and heavy filtering puts me off.
Not surprising. From looking around it seem like they want to turn beehaw into a business they can profit off of in the long run.

in the very, very long term, we aspire to become a co-op or similar, as a part of fulfilling our ethos.
Sounds like they just need to add a few temp mods.
My biggest issue is that posts stream in regardless of the sorting option you have picked. So, even if I am sorting by ‘hot’ posts I’ll get a stream of posts that where made less than a minute ago.
It’s because tankies are just contrarians that use communist ideology as a vehicle to be anti-west / anti-United States (anti-liberal democracy). Tankies will defend any cause or ideology that is against ‘the west’ even if that means happily ignoring the blatant homophobic, genocidal and repressive authoritarianism.
