The holier-than-thou mentality really doesn’t hold up to any standard of practicality when it comes to relations between countries. No doubt people are struggling in the US, yet purely because of the fact that there are more people living outside of the US as opposed to within its territories, you better believe I’m going to be grateful when non-US folk are doing better than US ones, especially since it’s in spite of everything the latter has done.

But by your own definition of bigotry there’s none of that to be found in this thread. Sure, you could construe an intolerance of people from the US (even though it’s more like intolerance of their many years of harmful bullshit) but there’s absolutely no partiality toward any group. Ever heard of realpolitik? Being righteous doesn’t matter on a geopolitical scale, especially not when it comes to an imperial superpower currently in the midst of its death throes. I don’t disagree. My point though is that artificial intelligence and what can be considered as such isn’t the same as what can be considered human intelligence. They don’t share very many mutual aspects aside from those on a very broad and non-specific scale. Therefore considering things such as LLMs an AI isn’t necessarily a misnomer.

AI as a term is constantly changing when it comes to what we actually consider to be meeting its criteria. When chess playing bots were starting to get really good in the 90s for example, people commonly considered that the pinnacle of AI until they got used to it and started to dissociate from that. Rinse and repeat with LLMs today.

Besides, AI is a field, not necessarily a technology, and the capabilities a computer requires for it to be considered “intelligent” aren’t even remotely similar to that of a human being. You can consider a computer intelligent without it being necessarily illogical.
