Not sure about the laptops, but the keyboard is nice. My guess would be that the percentage of returns will likely be similar to lenovo but they have logistics covered in most countries. S76 should simply not sell in countries with prohibitively expensive return costs.

This doesn’t require the user to be able to block, it’s required that there is the ability to block a user from the system in general.

I’m using fedora as my work system, because I have a relatively new laptop that needs the new kernels. Haven’t experienced anything you’re describing. Are you on fedora regular or on sliverblue (the immutable version)? If you’re having issues running the newest kernel, follow the fedora documented way to build and run your own. I did just that when needed a prerelease kernel and it worked out fine. I usually upgrade to a new release by the end of the cycle, so that the new version had 6 months to mature. I never immediately upgrade.
Its a surprise to me that a reddit post or any kind of random text blurb can be used as an admission of anything. What if the guy simply says I made all that up for fun? There is no requirement for text written on the internet to be under oath. Edit: fixed spelling oauth -> oath ;)

I actually think its OK, its just like any other account. So simply block them and all is good. Businesses need platforms too. If you dont like that business advertising to you block them. The difference to the big social media giants is that you can’t block them cuz they pay them. Also, a bad ad will have significant less reach in lemmy/masto.
I use sway because it gives me 4 hours more battery life compared to gnome.

They have been making a profit on YT for years already. This isn’t to cover the server cost, its to increase the bottom line after all competition was crushed by them. Also, I remember a time with unobtrusive ads that were fine and not an issue, unfortunately for the past 2 years or so they’re pushing more and more ads lately doubling up on them as well. Clearly people - just like me - start fighting back and stop them from abusing with massive amounts of unwanted content.

I have on my mastodon account, simply due to me wanting to be able to see whos interested in what I have to say. Its easy enough as well, you get a push and press yes, dont see a reason not to activate it. For Lemmy, no not yet, doesn’t really seem as relevant for some reason.
I’m comparing this with the transition from iphone to apple watch (in terms of tech and size). It took countless iterations on both iphone and watch to arrive at the apple watch ultra which effectively can be an iphone replacement. based on the current industry iterations, I’d guess that we’ll see a really great product in 3-4 years which is based on this tech just much smaller.
as an ex-mobile dev myself I can say that in my opinion the interface and controls are really interesting already and will allow for a yet not available immersive experience. for example I’m using an wireless VR headset to play halflife alyx and even though that tech is relatively dated, the hand and head tracking is superb; making the experience absolutely amazing. if you’ve not tried it, I highly recommend it, it’s been eye opening for me. any dev that wants to stay relevant has to buy this device and learning how to properly develop for it will likely take 3-4 years as well just to see what people will engage with.
another point that hasn’t been mentioned is privacy, you get to watch your personal movies / recordings / meetings / documents without anyone around you seeing it. this is huge for travelers. just like the ability to have a huge screen with you without having to actually carry a screen.
Well, maybe the 1000000 contained a bit of marketing but the point is that many of the people discussing this here probably didn’t know Lemmy existed 3 weeks ago and that number will only increase. There is nothing that can stop the fediverse from eventually overtaking everything else as its not a single entity. Also, growth may not be exclusive either, its not required for reddit to fail so that fedi can succeed. They can coexist.
