  • I was at lowes the other day and saw these cheap tiny hand “power drills” that recharge using USB-C. They were like $12, but they didn’t look like they could do a whole lot. They’d probably struggle with wood, but they could probably glide right through a plastic clamshell and mangle some electronics in 2 seconds. I don’t know how that would be useful to me, but at that price point I could just throw it away if I didn’t want it anymore. I could buy 20 of them and let my friends throw them away for me.

Anyway I was just looking for some new blinds at lowes, I’m big into home improvement. I don’t know why I’m rambling about these cheap drills, I’m not even sure what message board I’m on. This place is about home improvement right?

  • First time I ever got paid for tech support, my mom’s coworker came over with a laptop with wifi that refused to work. He was clever enough that he had tried reinstalling drivers and all sorts of stuff. He was so frustrated he gave into my mom’s suggestion that maybe her 12 year old son could help.

Windows was still booting up when I found the hardware switch for the wifi on the side of the laptop.

The guy looked so defeated, I couldn’t even laugh or smile about it at the time. He was literal head in hands, practically in tears, and then he peeled off a $20 without looking at me.

So don’t feel bad, this has been happening to the best of us for decades.
