No need for peace talks if you exterminate the other side taps forehead - Israel probably.
It’s truly a shame to watch this play out. And no this doesn’t mean I support Hamas. I just also don’t support Israel.

Yeah I’m waiting for the article about it being pushed onto the tracks.
Yep. Netflix removed a lot of my need to pirate, it was so convenient. Then every studio decided they needed their own streaming service and kept increasing prices while quality went down, so now I’m back to pirating.
I’ve always pirated anime tho. For a long time a lot wasn’t available legally and even once it was, I find fan subs to be much better than the official sources.
No you don’t understand, you live to work. Be grateful to your corporate overlords for giving you purpose. /s
I agree. I may on occasion vent about work if it’s especially stressful or if I need to talk through something with a third party but my general stance is that once I close my laptop I’m not talking about it again until I open it up the next work day.
It’s more the case that if you use more than 20% it is seen as negative. 0-10% is excellent, 10-20% is good, and it gets worse from there. Every year I request a credit increase despite my spending staying the same simply because it makes my utilization go down. But it’s dumb. I don’t need the extra credit. I’ll never use it. But have to have it to max my score.
Was coming here specifically to say credit scores. Oh what’s that you paid off your student loans? Here have a big credit hit as a treat. Oh you’re using your credit? Here have a credit hit even tho you’ve never missed a payment. How dare you use the credit you have??
I’m not saying it’s enjoyable. It’s especially awful when it’s hot & humid, if you wear glasses, or when wearing for a long period of time. But when the alternative is increasing the chances of catching/spreading a dangerous virus… well there isn’t much of an argument against.
It blows my mind how upset people get about masking. During the two primary years of Covid where I isolated and masked religiously, I didn’t get sick once or even have allergies (despite visiting parks often).
Now companies have RTO and try to get everyone in on the same days so illness spreads like wildfire. People sitting right beside me hacking their lungs out.
It’s so soft and yet there is still 0% chance of this going anywhere. That’s where we are smh.
Yep. A couple years ago I crossed the 6 figure threshold, which is what I was always told growing up was “good money”. But when you factor in inflation + living in a HCOL area, it doesn’t go nearly that far. I’m mostly comfortable and able to save but that’s because I save/invest religiously and also don’t make large purchases. There is 0 chance I could afford a kid right now.
And I’m not trying to say I have it the worst, I recognize the privilege I do have making as much as I do/how much less financial stress I have compared to previously. But man, 6 figures was so hyped up as a kid and it just doesn’t have the purchasing power it used to.
Why wouldn’t I complain about my fellow peers being slacktivists and not voting? I vote. I encourage my peers to vote. But so many can’t be bothered and then turn around and complain when the GOP wins and passes shit/blocks good legislation. I refuse to be content with <35% turnout just because it’s better than the past. It’s not enough to outvote the older generation which trends conservative, so it’s not enough for me.
While I agree with all this, the issue is that young people in general are also some of the least likely to go vote. Who cares if you lose the support of a block who isn’t going to vote anyways.
We’re seeing a slow rise in voter participation but even in one of our most active elections ever (midterms 2022 had a whopping 52% participation!), <35% of eligible youth (18-29) actually voted compared to ~58% of 45-64 and ~68% of 65+.
It’s really sad to think about where we could be if just 50% of the youth range had voted in 2020 and 2022, might have had Dems in control of both the house and senate.
It’s so dumb. I wanted to start the Tyranids cuz they looked cool, but my mother said they looked too evil (good thing I didn’t show her Chaos or DE) so I went with Tau instead. Later picked up Necrons because they gave off major “cosmic horror” vibes.
While I appreciate the newcrons because now they have actual characters/stories (who doesn’t love Trazyn) and new models, there was something really cool about the more mysterious 3rd edition Crons that has sadly been lost. Also rip Pariahs.
Wefwef has made it super easy for me to transition. It’s basically the Apollo interface for Lemmy.
Not being able to browse on mobile killed it for me. Most of my browsing was on mobile via Apollo. I refuse to get the official app after this stunt so now I’m just not using Reddit.
Luckily wefwef is making the transition easy and familiar.
Because of Project 2025 and what that would mean for the future should Trump & Co. win.
