Those are deranged as hell, the whole family! They loose their ability to eat upon adulthood, have one of the shortest adult lifespans among moths because of that and just mate all the time as adults. Horny.

Have you seen this cool moth? It’s caterpillars are badass, they eat poisonous shrubs.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•[Satire] "look, ma, I built a new compression algorithm!"English
9·4 days agoYou say satire, but kids developing “magical” compression algorithms were a thing in programming long before LLMs. This exact idea is not novel, even though it was executed quite a bit better by Facebook. It never got good enough for a real world application. https://github.com/facebookresearch/NeuralCompression

Probably not a good idea to use it if you want to be on good terms with adults.

9·5 days agoOn the internet anything goes. In real life, how I understand it, it produces exactly the “tomboyish schoolgirl” vibe. I would definitely be surprised if an adult woman used that.

20·10 days agoI don’t know, but a lot of people in this thread seem to suggest that it’s them not being a native speaker that’s the problem.
In my experience it’s actually the opposite, so many native speakers mess up things like your/you’re, it’s insane. Well, any time something is off about the English grammar on the internet, we blame the American education system.
Sometimes it’s funny, though. Like “for all intensive purposes”.

Fun fact: out of those only 4 and 8 are rom-coms and both are a bit weird.
4 is an ecchi with characters speaking bad Russian occasionally, if you know the language, it will hurt your ears.
8 is about an adult couple with a very established relationship that hides it in public. Not exactly how rom-com genre usually works.

The only thing with “fascism” there is “technofascists”, which is just an umbrella term for people who heavily rely on tech to spread far-right ideologies. I don’t like how loosely the term “fascism” is used on the internet, but this is far from the worst cases.

431·13 days agoThat’s understandable, pirating is fine, selling pirated content is totally not.
You might try contacting the person who shared those, maybe they’ll still share if you promise not to sell it.
Both NixOS and Gentoo are also addictive as hell, you poke just a couple of things — the next thing you know it’s 3 AM two weeks later and you are recompiling your whole system trying to make it work with Wild linker or something along those lines, laughing maniacally.
I use Gentoo. I very much warn you against using Gentoo.
Fermented juice like wine, cider and similar things like mead get to around 13% ethanol through the fermentation alone, no special technological magic needed. I think it’s fair to say it was the first method of acquiring alcohol, as it’s very common in nature with, for example, birds getting high from eating not so fresh berries.
