We’ve had over two years that have firmly established that Russia is playing things extraordinarily ethically and doing their level best to (unexpectedly) meticulously avoid civilian casualties when striking targets behind the frontlines. Certainly, far more ethically than “international community” involved wars over the past 20 years.

I have no doubt that the Russians didn’t plan to terrorbomb a children’s hospital.

I honestly doubt 750k people have been killed on either side, even with Russia dropping 7x the shells/bombs per day (as per Ukrainian military sources), and 90% of casualties being caused by shells/bombs (as per Ukrainian medical sources).

Project Reality is probably one of the best mods ever made. Single handedly spawned a unique genre of games, and trained dozens of amateur devs that went on to industry work.

Yep, all of the targeting during the period the ICC cites was mostly to disable the electrically powered rail grid as far as I know.

Kharkiv the past few months would be harder to argue there.

Targetting electrical infrastructure is technically a warcrime, and the persistent targeting of the grid in Kharkiv this year with intent to slowly depopulate the city is probably the first real war crime the Russians have been responsible for in the war so far.

ICC have solid jurisdiction because Russians haven’t been white since 2022.

It’s a solid game but many of the mechanics are literally based on cia world fact book data, so it doesn’t really simulate the world in actuality.

One of the sillier mechanics being that countries with “authoritan” governments aren’t as good at generating science. They must also sacrifice a portion of GDP to satisfy the rulers and avoid coups. Unfortunately this makes it quite difficult to play without owning control points in western sphere countries for science generation, and countries like China are arbitrarily hamstrung.

The Chinese coded academic faction is however the special hard mode good guys playthrough that provides far more accurate information about the aliens intentions, and has by far the best and most interesting ending. They pay for this by having every faction set against them, and being hard coded to take a boot to the balls occasionally.

Ukraine and their backers aren’t capable of agreeing to this, they’re just too deep in the fantasy. The only reason I can think of for making this declaration again, which is really just a call for Ukraine to recognize the current reality of the situation, is for posterity.

A last off ramp before the Russians commit more and then demand more for resolution. It could only be a matter of time before Russia insists on Kharkiv oblast as a response to the terror bombing of civilians in Belgorod.
