The tape is next level awful. Mechanics, decisions making, arm talent, ball placement, everything sucks majorly right now.

Shit coaching? He has Bill Belichick and Bill O’Brien. He’s awful, you should watch him play sometimes. NFL fandom has gone insane with this belief that QB play is completely predicated on the context around them, it’s like it’s impossible to analyze performance.
Ben goes in, he has a good combo of durability, efficiency, volume, regular season wins and playoff success, I think he has a much, much better case than Eli, Rivers and Ryan, even if the individual accolades fall short of the players generally included in the Hall at his position. The thing is we can’t overestimate the counting stats for the Matt Ryan/Phillip Rivers of the world because in 15 years they’ll be what, 14th and 16th in the all time passing yards leaderboards and then what? They were among the first wave to play their whole careers under the post-2004 rule change that made passing explode (and then it exploded again post 2007 or so), of course they’ll rank highly in the volume categories. But then there’s a good chance they’ll be surpassed by guys like Stafford, Goff… I love that the football Hall of Fame is very selective. Don’t want to turn it into the NBA, where it’s completely watered down.
MVP and first team All-Pro probably carries a ton of weight.
The issue was what he replaced those guys with. It’s perfectly fine to believe Jay Cutler and Derek Carr aren’t the QBs to take your team where you want to go.
It’s all bad, which is why they are the 9th worst offense of the decade at this point in the season. ALL bad includes the quarterback being awful. If Mac were a competent QB let down by his environment it wouldn’t look like this. That’s my point. The context around him sucks, he also sucks, that’s how you’re this bad.
