  • You’ll get a few years of life before even having to consider a battery replacement at 89%. Even after I went in to the Apple Store with a “replace battery now” pop up, they just told me it’s up to me.

Depending on your use case that might still be “all day” battery life. I have an M1 Pro and it’s fucking nice! A huge step up from my intel 13”. I don’t use chrome any more but that was the main battery killer when I first switched to Mac

If it fits your needs yes. I had a MacBook for 5+ years before I got an iPhone or any other Apple product for that matter.

Will you lose out on some quality of life features like airdrop? Yes. But there are third party solutions to get past that if you wish. I used push bullet(now defunct) for text message, notification and file forwarding between my MacBook and my android phone for years. It was nowhere near as smooth as iMessage and airdrop but it worked fine. A lot of midrange to high end headphones support dual connections so you have a slightly jankier version of the AirPod device switching. I have the AirPod pros and tbh they aren’t that much better with switching sometimes.

Just a warning, once you get to your second Apple device you’ll get sucked in. I went from an Apple hater to having 5 Apple devices cause the ecosystem is just so fluid.

  • Find my never has the address 100% right when I leave stuff at work (sometimes I leave my keys/airpods at my desk while I run downstairs for lunch of just pick up a snack). It also sometimes takes a while to update. In this case it could’ve been the person who has it stopped near your house before turning it off. Location pinged off your Apple device, shows the guy it was last at your address.
