I’m a proud Canadian, but I’d be even more proud if we had the electoral reform he explicitly promised in his first campaign. He accomplished some good things, but fuck we coulda used that.

It really is fantastic - and there’s fortunately lots of great non-alcoholic beers out there of all types now, and most bars and restaurants have at least one. Heck, a brewery near where we live even had a non-alcoholic beer and cider fest last summer. It’s great to still enjoy a drink with friends and notbe stuck drinking pop or soda water.

Why the split from .world?

The same reason that there’s a Lemmy.ca in the first place, i.e. it’s a community managed by Canadians, geared to Canadians. This is a resource for Canadians struggling with alcohol/quitting, although of course just like Lemmy.ca, everyone is welcome, from anywhere. Having this community here means that people who choose to spend their time on Lemmy in Lemmy.ca have a place to go to right here. Cheers!
