I’m 6’6" (198cm) tall. I have various muscle issues on account of my height, reaching or even seeing lower shelves can be difficult, I bang my head on everything, and I barely fit in my own car.

I still would have to choose the 8’ (243cm) option, because I have no idea how to be short. While I know there will be problems being short, I can conceptualize and understand what those problems will be. I have absolutely no idea what they would be if I suddenly lost over half my height.

I don’t remember much about it, but in the second grade we took a field trip to go and see a stranded whale off Stanhope beach. They ended up rescuing it thankfully, but even with it being further from the shore I remember being awestruck by it.

Just weighing in as a reformed Marvel fan and lifelong Star Wars fan: I started keeping local copies of that shit almost a decade ago and recommend to anyone I know to do the same. You never know when a streaming company might decide that it is no longer worth the bandwidth to host it, or if the rights will be transferred to a new service that I won’t already have (i.e. all ot them). If you genuinely enjoy almost any media in the modern era you need to have a local copy, because if you don’t some corporate entity may just decide to make it lost media on a whim because it becomes only moderately profitable.

I’m Canadian and come from “doing donuts” territory, but we will use “whipping shitties” if it’s done in a massive parking lot.

I’ve only ever owned Android, but I was playing over a decade ago. Might just be misremembering, or might predate it’s addition.

I used to play this game so much in high school. Like, for at least an hour a day (when I should have been paying attention in class). Never had an undo button, made it to 16384 once. I have never even considered using a snaking pattern, I always did one side & top (so all rows increased or decreased in the same direction, as opposed to in alternating direction). That is so smart.

I don’t have a source on this, but I do remember seeing a Lemmy post a week or two ago claiming that there was an announcement by Arizona that the price would increase because of increased cost of goods (50% on the materials for the can, and up to 20% on the actual ingredients). This is on top of the gouging that has been happening for years.
