There’s a Kurzgezagt animated version of it as well

Skimmed through the article quickly and yeah that’s what I interpret as well, this is just NFC Payment, and has been a thing on Android devices for years already.
Someone gotta point it out; Dudes a genuinely real bard, and he’s so damn charismatic that you didn’t even notice he’s playing flute on a drumstick
What do you mean, “for a while”? This song is going to live rent free in your head for the rest of your life
Where is the TLDR bot at? Reading that article was like reading something from a highschooler with a word count requirement on his homework
There are tons of politicians out there that want to do more. Hardcore green parties, climate advocates, straight up activists. They have been active for years and years.
Nobody votes for them. On the contrary, people are voting increasingly for the exact opposite.
And I mean, why wouldn’t they? The climate disaster snowball is so goddamn big now that the actions needed to take to slow it down is growing increasingly extreme. And as the actions grow more extreme, the immediate impact on personal comfort convenience and quality of life grows. Why would anyone vote for something that objectively makes your life worse?
So instead of voting for that, people vote for the status quo. Maybe for those who commit to some token greenwashing at best. Maybe it won’t be so bad, they say. Maybe it’ll only impact brown people somewhere. Maybe it’s not even real to begin with.
And so the snowball grows, the scale of the reactions needed to stop it grow with it, and the cycle perpetuates. As it has for the last several decades.
On a similar note, robot vacuum. It cleans quite nicely, is surprisingly reliable, and as a bonus you keep the floor less cluttered to make sure it doesn’t run into stuff it shouldn’t.
Exactly. Hence me comparing it to beef instead of Tuna.
Considering Isekai is basically just fantasy with extra steps, take a look at Frieren if you haven’t already. It’s fantasy without the Isekai gimmick, following the story of an elf that outlives all her travelling companions, and retraces the steps of her journey with them to remember them. Very wholesome, slow paced and melancholic - even sad at times.
Ascendance of a Bookworm is another, following a library mega-nerd that isekais into a little sickly girl, and follows her story as she works towards creating the entire goddamn book industry all the way from creating paper from scratch.
Dr. Stone is potentially another example, not strictly iseka with the whole reincarnated gimmick, but “petrified for a few thousand years” and waking to a post post post apocalyptic stone age setting is basically the same anyway. Follows a science mega-nerd that starts recreating modern science from scratch.
Very, very poorly made in that case, probably. Properly prepared whale is honestly closer to beef than any other fish, and should be juicy and easy to chew.
Can’t you just unplug the dock from the wired connection instead?
I don’t have the same background for it, but currently doing the exact same thing. Tiptoeing around eggshells to avoid conflict of any sort, retreating and agreeing at the slightest sign of friction. Recently started seeing a therapist that made me aware of how incredibly toxic and self-destructive this is. We both gotta be better, take care of yourself man.
I hate how plausible this sounds
The answer is largely the same if you make the same assumptions though, just roughly twice as bad because not only does the earth stop and everything not attached goes yeet, but everything attached starts moving just as fast as you in the opposite direction
Me too man, I’ve just barely made it to last light for the first time, and I’ve been going for shadowheart the entire way, but maaaaaaaaan, Karlach is so damn precious
Ditto. Used to be a Boost user on Reddit, joined Lemmy when Boost was released for it, but ended up switching to Connect because boost was finicky for me for some reason. Never saw any reason to look back, i like Connect better
Barely spoke a word with any of them for several years. Got a kid. Now i know almost all of them.
EXTREMELY effective method, but has a few caveats.
Shoutout to Uplink! Not something you look to for realism, but it’s a really well designed hacker sim. Lots of fun!
Newgrounds still lives and flourishes, to this day it is still an incredibly active hub for free browser games and animations. Itch.io is another hub that is very active, both with free and paid games. Both have thousands of browser games, quality ranging from literal shit to truly excellent.
Flash may have died, but the browser game very much lives on.
Tried looking that up but can’t really find anything, what is the controversy there?
