I’ve had a few of my “check out lemmy.ca” posts deleted there and frankly I don’t see how it breaks reddit TOS. They’re just bitter.

I’ve been posting lemmy on reddit, and have gotten a few bans for my trouble.
I welcome the bans.
Food and housing should be covered as part of basic income. We absolutely have the global production for it. The implementation is all but blocked because of earth-legacy, so I’m not saying it’s practical with today’s society. It would take extreme global change.
People make comments like “then why would anybody work” but that doesn’t take into account how damn efficient our farming and production is. We’re on the cusp of extreme automation and the actual number of workers required is very low. People would still work to own better homes, better food, better cars, better electronics, more access to travel, etc.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not sure how to get there form here, but there’s nothing technical preventing it - only sociological. Which is a bigger hurdle in my opinion. Technology is easy. People are not.
Easily done, I already avoid them.
Japanese workers get more days off than American workers.
Japan 26
USA 10
Japanese on average don’t work longer than Americans (2017)
#39 United States 1,765.00
#43 Japan 1,738.36
Don’t get me wrong, they have a crazy work culture, but it’s worse in the USA.
Had me in the first half lol
Japanese are very against violence, and incidentally it’s the safest first world country. And the work culture has been improving in the last decade or so - though not nearly fast enough.
Japans GDP has been almost flat since the mid 90s, they are not following the west’s “”“infinite”“” growth. Not that I’m saying capitalism isn’t part of the problem, it absolutely is, just saying it isn’t the entire story.
Humans are all different. It’s difficult to accurately generalize them. Some people like only fans, but for other people it does literally nothing for them.
To each their own.
my hands are filthy so that’s fine
Interesting link, thank you!
~2 days without food, for most people, I assume
Those are some well made tutorials!
Internet is going to be internet, but this place is like 10% as adversarial as reddit from my experience so far. I haven’t even had anybody DM me to end myself yet. At reddit I got those for saying my favorite game was Total Annihilation.
Less true in other languages. Twitter was big in Japan where 140 chars goes a bit further.
I think your assessment is optimistic.
He’ll ruin the gov like he ruined X
Hey thanks, I do lean a little hard on the self deprecating humor sometimes.
Reddit has been getting worse for years, and the comments there are so adversarial and insincere.
Users definitely can get sick of bad sites, what happened with X shows that. Their user base is a small fraction of what it was a few years ago.
I’m definitely liking it here though!
Annexation of Tibet (1950-1951)
Invasion of Paracel Islands (1974)
Southern Mongolia Annexation (1947-1949)
Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands Dispute: China claims the Senkaku Islands (Diaoyu Islands), which are currently controlled by Japan but also claimed by Taiwan.
PROC claims Taiwan as a province, but Taiwan operates as a de facto independent country.
South China Sea (Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia), PROC claims nearly the entire South China Sea under its “Nine-Dash Line”, leading to conflicts with Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, and others.
India - China claims Arunachal Pradesh as “South Tibet.”
But it’s important to point out that “China” isn’t a country, rather a region. The country people generally refer to when they say “China” is the PROC. If you go back 1000 years there was no “China” country, there was the Ming Empire in the China region. I understand this perspective bothers people, but consider this, if you need to reduce countries to regions then you’re going to be bothered for the rest of your life.
