  • I’m attempting the same as well, at least for as long as I can. I really enjoy 9 and the design and usability of lots of things. (User since WatchOS4)

    However I’m getting my 14 pro replaced through Apple care soon and I’m worried it will force me to update, as it typically does when you re-pair. I’m going to research whether there’s a difference as far as an iCloud restore vs iPhone to iPhone transfer in regard to it forcing a watch update.

    The front screen is ridiculously durable. I mean, stupendously.

    The back is still fairly easy to break. If you don’t have AppleCare I wouldn’t recommend it.

    It’s mostly about trade in/resale value. If that matters to you at all, I wouldn’t do it.
