That’s why.
Developing DRAM manufacturing capability is insanely difficult and hugely expensive. Almost all the worlds DRAM comes from one of these three names and they’re already making their fortune selling to AI companies. They don’t care about how many penny’s people like you or me can scrape together.
If you’re using the USB dongle then try use a USB extension cable to put some distance between the device and the dongle to reduce interference. And make sure the dongle has clear line of sight to the controller.
I dont have the 8bitdo controller but I have had issues like that with lots of other devices with dongles and using an extension + line of sight solved connectivity issues with all of them.
I have the Cyclone 2 as well. Its a great controller. The charging stand is really handy too and the controller automatically turns on and connects when you pick it up off the charging stand.
The only issue I’ve had (and its a problem with all xbox style controllers) is that in order to move the mouse cursor you need to hold the “Xbox button” and move the stick, but if you hold the button for longer than a few seconds the controller powers off. So I’m looking forward to the new Steam Controller because it has seperate touch pads.

39·8 days agoIf we all got together as a team and each put Linux and Steam on 5 old/cheap/e-waste/whatever PCs for the next survey we’d pump those numbers up to ~20% and freak Microsoft out.

This authorization led to the act being nicknamed “The Hague Invasion Act”, since the act would allow the president to order military action in The Hague, the seat of the ICC, to prevent American or allied officials and military personnel from being prosecuted or detained by the ICC.

So the first comment in this thread did not say they were infuriated?
Nope.
They said:
it just infuriates people
They said “people”, not “I”. They didn’t say “I am infuriated”.
The only information we have about the state of the person you are replying to is that they’re hungry.
It says they’ll contact donators via email to confirm address

4·2 months agoIt’s possible that, when the ISP revokes the public address and assigns a new one, the DNS record isn’t updated immediately and still points to the old address. Then every new request would be sent to the old, invalid address.
I’ve got it set up on my OPNSense firewall
OPNsense has ddclient built in which solves this problem as well.

2·2 months agoAnd i bet you’re in a completely different part of the world from me.
I went to school in the south west of Ireland in the 90s where internet access was even more of a myth than that rib surgery rumour and i still heard about it.

Like that one about Marilyn Manson getting his lower ribs surgically removed.

Isn’t proton open source?
They could make a Linux client that uses Proton just like Steam does?
Maybe even their own forks of Proton that are more suited to the kinds of games they have on the platform (like the Glorious Eggrolls spin offs).
