  • It makes you feel so melancholy, doesn’t it? Like a decade ago, I really enjoyed this small YT channel where she did blind playtbroughs of Dark Souls games. She wasn’t much of a gamer in the beginning and started it because her boyfriend thought it would be entertaining having a complete noob try dark souls. He was right. Anyway, she worked her way through all 3 games over the course of about 2 years, but stopped part way into part 3 and never posted again. It’s been like 7 years. I think about it every now and then and check on the channel. I always wonder if she okay.

  • Yes, true. I was specifically referring to streaming of non-live content.

To your second paragraph, that’s a good question. I work for a company that provides live linear streaming along with our non-linear service, and last I heard, the live stream still had the majority share of views. I was a little surprised by that because of the size of the VOD offering, but then I remember how people just love throwing on the TV for noise and not think of it.

Further to that, I occasionally use Pluto, and I find that it’s often easier to just throw on the South Park live channel vs. navigating to the VOD channel and picking an episode. Maybe I’m just one of those old people. Lol.

  • You’re exactly where I was. Lol. For the longest time I was sure I was going to get a 3060ti because the 3070 was just too expensive. Then as prices started dropping and secondhand cards were getting so much cheaper, I was inclined to open up my options. After reading a lot, I decided that the extra vram would serve me better for a long run with the card, especially since I was generally finding the 6700xt going for less than the 3060ti and 3070 on FB marketplace.

And as you said, the recent business practices by Nvidia definitely weigh heavily.
