Pretty similar.
Loneliness is one of the worst pains a human being can feel. It’s often been ranked even worse than physical pain. I don’t envy you, I know what it’s like.
Unfortunately, the only way to get out of it is through even more pain (probably). You have to force yourself to talk with new people and create deep relationships.
Even more pain, because you’re very likely to be rejected. First of all, deep relationships, in contrast to superficial relationships, have much higher compatibility requirements, idk, you’re probably only compatible with maybe 5% of people to form a deep relationship with. But then you probably also have bad social skills right now, so a part goes away through that. And then there’s just situationally no path towards a deep relationship with a person, maybe they have too many already, or whatever, so another part of that 5% goes away. So the actual chance to start a deep relationship is very low, which will mean lots of rejection and failure.
This will be incredibly painful, because you’re likely already introverted for reasons that involve negative interactions with people. And you’ll likely add more of them to the list unfortunately. But I’m almost sure you’ll add many more positive ones to the list as well.
You can do it like me and get rejected over and over until you feel so worthless and desperate that you rewrite your whole being to please another person, then latch to anyone that gets fooled by you pretending to be what they want, then breaking down because you’re living a completely fake life.
Wait, maybe that’s bad advice? Naaah worked for me so must be good right?
But seriously. I’m mainly saying this because I went through all kinds of mistakes, but doing them was better than not doing anything. And I know for a fact it can be done. I was incredibly lonely, having no friends, in so much emotional pain all the time, but now I feel like the happiest person on Earth, with so many good friends and loving relationships abundant.
All of this shit you’re facing right now can be conquered and overcome. Keep searching for advice like you’re doing right now. Humans are not meant to face the world alone, and there are always people willing to help you, you already see it in this thread, and add me to the list. Talking with many other distinct humans about our problems is almost the best thing you can do. We learn through other’s experiences almost as much as through our own experiences.
If you want to know more, I’m here, talk with me. You can do this :)

I haven’t watched the video either, but I’m sure they’ll be like 4 is the max.
Edit: it’s mostly about scheduling and combinatorics, and it says for example at 5 players you have a 71% of failure to find a common time, while with 4 it’s 49%.

19·12 days agoInefficient loading of the dishwasher.
You put the same things to the same place! So you can grab them as one when unloading, saving time.
You spread everything out! The more bunched it is, the harder it is for the water jets to hit and clean everything properly.
You put each thing into the most appropriate place! Big spoons go into the bigger bucket, small spoons in the smaller one, big plates into the row with the wider space between plates, smaller plates into the more narrow rows.
It’s incredible how most people load their dishwashers, they mostly just put stuff in wherever is closest.
The goal was achieved. You’re probably socially awkward, and they don’t want to be approached by someone socially awkward. You’re doing exactly what whoever told you your interest is insulting wanted to make you do.
Because it’s written on 4chan and all men are dangerous and need to be shamed into not approaching anyone. You’re only allowed to approach someone if you’re incredibly attractive and socially perfectly calibrated.

Fixing takes the same time either way. But I barely ever have to touch my setup anyway, because usually ot doesn’t just break randomly.

15·14 days agoOf course the mental health team is bleeding talent, it’s probably (initially) consisted of people that actually care about mental health, and they gradually figured out that no matter what they do or try, the technology they work for can only ever be a net negative on mental health. I would also wash my hands off it as fast as possible and go back to actually contributing to positive mental health.

I’m not running a business here, I’ve got no big stakeholders. If something doesn’t work, at most me or someone close to me is affected. No one really cares if something is not available for a day.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do I always have "dreams" that give me anxiety (aka: nightmares)? Why do I never just get to re-live my happy memories in my dreams? Wtf brain?!? This is outrageous! It's unfair!
6·18 days agoTwo factors in my view:
- You don’t remember the good dreams, because we humans generally focus more on the bad things. Dreams generally don’t get remembered very easily, so you only remember the very impactful ones, which would thus be the bad ones. It is possible though to want to focus more on the good stuff and train yourself to do it.
- Afaik, you do have more bad dreams if your life is filled with anxiety or danger or whatever. Your dreams in some sense are a reflection of your waking life. So if your life is very stressful, maybe try to change that, and that might also change the dreams.
