  • You can just skip all this thinking if you remind yourself how easy it is to get a doctor’s note, and infer how easily powerful fuckfaces ger more important documents.

Beyond that… Liberals misunderstand how media controls thought. They think in 1D terms, media that lies and media that tells the truth, when how often a thing is mentioned or in what context are far more important than the fact of it being said. I guarantee this, if all news media mentioned some crime or coincidence in HW’s past after every fifth time his name was mentioned, starting on his election day, he’d be fucking impaled on the lawn of the white house before the first state of the union. Yet he was allowed to die a sweet old man, fondly remembered by man. As will his son, the painter.

  • I feel mild nostalgia for a lot of games, but I’ve got a specific place for Starcraft.

See, I must’ve watched my brother play Brood War quite a lot, because I had 6 images imprinted in my mind: the in-game sprites and portraits of Zealots, Dragoons, and Dark Templar. I didn’t really have the wherewithal to process that these imahes were from a game. It was probably a few years later, when I came across my brother playing it again. I spent an absurd amount of time on that game and the sequel.

Anyway. Hate the game now. I haven’t got the energy to spend hours every day honing my reflexes for that ludicrous sack of shit engine. I only ever watch compilations of Artosis getting furious these days.

You’ll have to forgive the copy-paste reply, I answered about the same question on r*ddit. Even if you aren’t read-up on DOR Korea enough to take it at face value that they’re socialists, there are key differences.

We know for a fact that the Kim family aren’t enriching themselves or exploiting their country’s resources like the western backed dictators. If they were living with all the luxuries of the modern day bourgeoise or cheaply selling ores or whatever resources for cheap, that’d be quite difficult to hide. This is also why the only argument westerners have to prove their luxury is how fat they are in a country with such low obesity rates, obviously not a serious argument that merits a response. I don’t know about Kim Il-Sung or Kim Jong-Il’s positions, but Kim Jong-Un really isn’t in a position of supreme authority. In fact, he has less direct control over policy than most western leaders.

On the other hand, Omar Bongo (the father) was literally installed by de Gaulle. He had french backing from day 1, he and his family lived in all the bourgeois luxuries and exploited the natural resources of the country to the benefit of France just like the rest of the neo-colonies in west Africa.

Best way to learn about Korea would be to read up on the war and the writings of Kim Il-Sung. If you need convincing more than clarity, you can read Che and Fidel had to say about the DPRK.

  • You? Apparently not. But to the best of their ability people answer honest questions here. “If capitalism is so great and a shirt travels the world 5 times before getting to the shop why’re there tens of millions without access to sanitation and clean water” is a fair question.

Also, the high estimates of the famines in socialist states are measured exactly in the manmer you decried. If you could read the bottom text, you’d underatand this is intentional.

  • You’re a good kid but you’re still thinking in absolutes like an idealist. I get thet your parents are ideologically backwards, I get that they’re indulging in exploitation, but if I’m reading it right they aren’t professional landlords or anything. They’re still labourers and have one extra flat they’re renting out. That’s very near the bare minimum they need to provide comfortable lives to themselves and their children.

Today it’s near unavoidable to have some money and not engage in some petit bourgeois behaviour, to an extent that doesn’t necessarily make someone petit bourgeois. Keeping your money in a rented flat or shares in companies (as it would be in those pension funds) is participating in exploitation, but what are your alternatives? Keep it in the bank and the interest they’ll give you is less than inflation. Buy a flat and keep it empty, now you’re participating in the housing market the same way as landlords refusing to lower the rent. I suppose you could buy gold and hoard it somewhere.

Your parents aren’t bad people for participating in the society they live in and neither are you for “profiting” off that. As for their ideological inclinations, people don’t leave liberalism by being convinced. They see the conreadictions of capitalism and have someone explain what it is they saw and how it fits into the bigger picture. Watch out for that and you may make comrades out of them yet.
