I grew up with a number of ornamental grasses in my front yard which specifically needed to not be cut back in order to thrive. Leaving them alone produced excellent results. So all I’m saying is that it depends on the specifics of the plant. Hopefully we can both agree that if people get a new type of plant, they should look up what that exact species needs to give it the best shot?

I tried using Firefox for a mapping tool a few months ago and it cheerfully gobbled up 34GB of RAM before I killed it. Neither Chrome nor Edge suffered the same memory leak, so I think there’s still some work to be done!

I mean… Yeah kinda. I’ve also seen 40-60 as a definition, but considering the life expectancy in the US, 40 is past halfway so it feels like too late to start the “middle”.

If they tried to hire enough mods to do a quality job of it they’d be bankrupt by the end of the year. I don’t know if they’ll have enough capable volunteers for a significant fraction of the subreddits.

Twitch is hardly a profit center, streaming isn’t where you’d go to boost profits.
