oh damn, that’s one of the most important gameplay elements!
Though I remember Bloodborne being super obtuse about teaching mechanics

can the instance even support federation with a multimillion user federation? Just look at the fedilags recently.
“The instance” from the question isn’t Meta’s, it’s sh.itjust.works, or any other “small” instance. Federation mostly works by mirroring a lot of data from instance A (i.e. Meta) into instance B (i.e. sh.itjust.works). If instance A broadcasts a lot of data, instance B might get overloaded.
I was on the verge of buying Ravenfield (a blocky battlefield-like, but only solo with bots) just to scratch that itch. I’ll probably go with Battlebit instead, it looks like dumb messy fun.
For a more user-friendly (IMO) alternative, altough not open source, there is Resilio Sync. The main difference with Syncthing is that you don’t introduce clients to each other; you just share folders.
When lemmy.world will disappear, that’ll be a lot of communities (and valuable information) that go with it.
People love shitting on crypto
With good reason. Here’s yet another crypto scam and you’re replying with “what about other scamming methods?”. Maybe there’s a reason we talk much more often about crypto scams.
You can’t buy other games if you have an Eve Online subscription. There is no other game than Eve.
they can’t trigger on the edit event as there are too many legit uses of it.
They definitely do, I’ve experienced it firsthand: I mass edited all my comments to “[deleted]” and many of them got edited back within 2-3 days. There are some reasonable explanations about buggy caches, but that’s a really convenient bug for Reddit right now.
They get edited back. I’ve been playing this game for 10 days. I edit once or twice, then delete a few days later, and there’s still comments popping back.
They’re basically the same browsers, and arguably, you’re using the better one to install the worse one.
Edit: Also your last point proves mine. It’s only easier because otherwise you’ll be ostracized or worse.
Not at all? For example, there are many people who donate time or money to charities, and don’t talk about it at all. They do it because it feels good to help, they don’t seek validation or praise.
“Kind” and “not mean” are not the same thing. The motivations are totally different.
Technically it’s wrong.
You’re not good because you’re afraid of the consequences of being bad. You’re good because you have empathy and know that kindness is overall better for everyone (you included) than nastiness or immorality.
and Lemmygrad users could be confronted on those instances
Ah yes the good old “debate me” approach, but reversed.

I must say it was a funny rant to read (and I 100% agree with you)
Edit: though i quickly looked at the code and it seems that the regex is customizable? https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/blob/main/crates/api_crud/src/site/update.rs#L126
However, I have a strange feeling about it not being open source. The recent events with Reddit have only increased this discomfort.
Well, Obsidian is not a live service. If the developers disappear tomorrow or decide to aggressively monetize it, you still have access to the app in its current state, and the whole plugins ecosystem.
Then I shall die with the current weather 😅
I like No Man’s Sky take on this, that seamlessly shifts from offline to online. I can stop/resume it without an hitch on my Steam Deck, even in multiplayer zones.
With Diablo IV, I get disconnected when there’s a light breeze.
If you’ve never played the original, take the Resurrected. They’re the same game, but Resurrected is beautiful. Be warned though that mechanically, it’s an old game, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who hasn’t played it back then.
That’s the reason I couldn’t get into PoE. I’ve seen many critics about Diablo 3 & 4 being too easy and forgivable, but I’m not 16 anymore and I want to enjoy games without having to absorb a whole wiki beforehand. I even played Torchlight 2 with a respec mod because I don’t have time to fail a build.
