It’s Saturday! For many of us, probably the best day of the week. Even if it turns out to be crap then we still have Sunday waiting in reserve.

So, what are your exciting plans for this, a traditional drizzly British summer weekend?

We were planning another two day camping trip, but with thunderstorms forecast at our destination, I think as a family we have all decided to dump that concept and just doss around instead.

We’re getting a bigger solar battery installed next week! So lots of tidying up the porch, making sure we have tea and biscuits on hand, and researching whether we can move to a dynamic electricity tariff.

And hoping next week is sunnier so we can fill the damned thing!

Going down South for a few weeks to house sit for a friend of my wife’s in Devon - neither of us feel physically cracking this week though so it’s hard to get into the holiday spirit… We’ll be fine when we get going!

Woke up thinking “yay, Saturday, I’ll just get a few chores out of the way first and then the day is mine!”

I’ve now put the “few chores” into my todo list, and turns out the day isn’t going to be mine until about half four.

    Alas.

always the same isn’t it! I keep saying “I’ll just get that sorted, and then chill” but never seems to happen.

Weans have turned into night owls being off school and while it’s great having the mornings to myself, I do sorely miss delegating to the peons!

Chores can wait til they wake up, surely? 😄

On the bright side, while half four seemed a long way away when I made that comment, I’ve been very productive and the rest of the day is now mine. Other half is due to disappear upstairs for a video chat party with his old Quake clan for their 25th anniversary, so I’ll get some alone time to just lounge around in the quiet. Then, burrito night.

        Everything’s coming up Milhouse!

          Good stuff!

Hope they have a great one - love me a bit of quake! Enjoy burritos and hope you all have a good one.

I’m lying in bed, psyching myself up for my next C25K run. Then we’re going swimming later as a family and that’s about it. 😁

I’m just depressed that I’m not going to the Commonwealth Games like I was last summer. 😭

Supposed to be going a cycle to Eglington Country Park but, much like yourselves, since it’s pissing down I’ve just fannied around all morning.

I ran Ethernet cable upstairs so at least I’ve done something I guess. Although some prick eyeballed “I reckon we’ll need around 50m” because I was too lazy to dig out my tape measure. Consequently I’ve got about 25m of it coiled in a basket. It’ll do for now I guess, but I feel like a right dobber.

Went to London to see the Bleak Expectations show at Criterion on Piccadilly. Very silly! Nice to see Jack Dee in person
