It’s a non-federated (but I think open source) reddit clone run by an extremely online anarchist clique. It getting some advertisement is for the better I think. The anti-communist left will go there and either stay, or be driven away after getting banned by their admin for not being ideologically pure enough.
Seems kind of Ironic that some anarchists would like to be there considering it’s not federated. Federation is way more anarchic than a single instance run by an overbearing admin.
I’ve been loving the federation so far, the concept is so awesome because its just so obviously how things should work.
Counter point: if a website was not designed & developed with federation in mind, it is very difficult to add it.
Intact, this is reflected by what the developers of Postmill (the software raddle is using and developing) say:
there are not, unless someone steps up to the table and meticulously plans how federation support would be implemented

At the end of the day, many people just want a safe space and don’t care that much about the details. And the mods on raddle have opinions that sound safe to many users.
What is raddle.me? On the surface it looks like a reddit look alike website. Is it not federated? If so, eww.
Is there like some old drama between Lemmy and raddle?(I’m new here forgive me.)

I don’t know about drama between raddle and lemmy, but just yesterday the raddle admin started stirring shit in a hexbear thread.
I’m sure someone has more info, but raddle is populated very heavily with an anarchist presence. So clearly they see us as “evil red fash tankies”
