Oh shit is that what happened? Because yeah it was off the hook and then really sort of… lost its way at the very end.
Mild spoilers ahead
I do like the idea of “It happened before and it’s going to happen again” Where organics will inevitably create machines and mistreat them, who will then try to exterminate the humans, who then would need to evolve/change their ways to convince the machines to allow them to exist… meanwhile some of the machines are essentially becoming organics and yeah just felt jarring the direction they went with for the ending
That is indeed what happened. I had been a huge fan of the show, even purchasing the DVD sets despite limited entertainment budget. I was so disappointed.

Just looked it cuz I was curious where the break was and whether it matched my impression when watching it.
From the Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlestar_Galactica_(2004_TV_series) it seems that the strike interrupted the production of season 4 but not 3.
Which matches my experience. I was with the show up to the end of S3 but then S4 felt meh-ish except for
spoiler
the Gaeta coup episodes
Yeah, that’s what I was thinking of. It’s been an awfully long time so my memory is distant.
