I don’t want to downplay his struggles any more than I would want someone to downplay my own.
This just feels like either him, his staff, or the outlet he talks to is attempting to garner sympathy and support from people who are recently aware of mental health.
Whatever it is - it’s odd. It clashes with his main message that he’s been pushing to the media: “John Fetterman doesn’t care what you think”.
His whole campaign was dunking on people on social media, so it’s kind of weird to start talking about how it was bad for his mental health.
Granted, his accounts are run by staffers, but still.
