    According to the Constitution, there’s no such thing as a false elector. There is not supposed to be a popular vote. Electors are meant to be free to vote for whoever they deem fit. The fact that every single state has now instituted popular votes for POTUS does not change the fact that the founding fathers intended electors to be free to vote as they see fit.

      I don’t think you understand what’s happened or what is meant by the term “false elector.” The electors for Michigan had already been chosen and certified the actual results of the popular vote. These electors were straight-up fake. They weren’t chosen as electors via the normal system; they were simply GOP folks who lied in writing.

      Try reading the article before commenting next time.
