I hope the #PeerTube app is like NewPipe and lets you just subscribe without users having to hunt down a PeerTube server to host their subscriptions. It’s something that can be done with local storage (if necessary, synced) and an optional Mastodon/Fedi account for commenting.
IMHO @newpipe is by far the best way to subscribe to PeerTube channels on mobile.
Have you tried using Podcasting apps that support video? PeerTube added podcasting 2.0 RSS feeds a few versions back. The subscription process is pretty easy.

Syncing is fine, but I want to be in control of what is doing the syncing.
That’d be ideal, since I think that’s how most people use PeerTube in a browser.
