I feel like Immortal Technique, Bambu, etc. are a lot clearer in the message to the point that it can’t be ignored, and they seem a little less well known. And RATM is only a little less “left-wing-as-an-aesthetic” than Run the Jewels (which isn’t really left wing at all). Any “dissent” is mostly an aesthetic that adds a tiny bit of meaning to something that is otherwise just silly.
