I always wanted to try VR since 2017 but never had the money, but times have changed. I’m on dual boot (EndevaorOS + Win 10 IOT LTSC) and currently I’m thinking on waiting for the Valve Deckard which is definitely a huge overkill for me, or buy the DPVR E4 or buy into the Meta spyware.

Does anyone have experience with the E4 on Linux? I know that it supports SteamVR, but just to be sure since the website officially supports Windows.

It’s not enough to just support SteamVR. You also need device drivers, which nobody provides for their headsets on Linux except Valve for the Index and Vive. (Oh yeah, and Oculus had Linux drivers, for the DK1 and DK2, which stopped around when they got picked up by Facebook.)

On Linux your other choices are ALVR or whatever’s supported by OpenHMD (positional tracking with OpenHMD is either experimental or missing)
