There is a surprising amount of free space in this phone, I have other mods in the works. Especially if I can find a replacement battery. It’s a surface Duo 2.

This post is confusing because you barely shared any content. That photo is as non-descriptive of the work you did as is possible. Consider adding other photos to give us a clue of what we are looking at here.

Missed opportunity for using micro pattern print plates or fancy infills like hilbert curve. On the plus side the design of the phone is so unique that I immediately knew that Microsoft doesn’t like the right to repair movement.

I could potentially do that, I have to do the other side as well. This phone was designed poorly, the magnets are doomed to rip the back glass off eventually.

This is a warranty replacement device for this same issue.

Damn, this makes it even more infuriating that they don’t offer replacement parts :(

I think the worst part is that they have jumper cables attached to the glass, so as it was pulling off the nfc and phone speaker would stop working.

you can do it directly in CAD too. I put carbon-fiber textures on the back of my phone cases I sell. It’s way more realistic feeling compared to the build plates that have the pattern on them.

It’s basically just a ton of little rectangles offset from each other. Then I ensure the bottom/top line direction is [0,90] in cura. You even get that cool depth effect when viewing at certain angles.

    This is the way.

And on the plus side, your new printed cover will be significantly less likely to shatter again. Unless you try really, really hard, anyway.

I have the other side to print as well, and if I ever find a replacement battery I was thinking about making the battery removable. There’s a lot of wasted space in this phone.
