I recently got into manga as a way to look ahead in anime story lines or get around terrible pacing. I’m only up to date on some popular anime series’ manga like One Punch Man and Vinland Saga. While I haven’t been reading manga / watching anime for long, the industry has been producing great content for a ages!

What are some older classics that you think everyone should give a chance?

For me the “must-read” classics are Dragon Ball and Detective Conan (aka Case closed).

Monster by Naoki Urasawa is one I always recommend. My favorite franchise is Mobile Suit Gundam, and The Origin by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko is a good way to get into the franchise, but I understand mecha isn’t for everyone.

      Thanks for the recomendations!

Monster looks like its super morally ambiguous, should be an interesting change from the good/bad stereotypes.

Gundam is cool. I watched season 1 of the Witch from Mercury and enjoyed it, but I’ve been told its not really representative of the tone of the franchise.
