I’m making a few assumptions here…

  • We move on from JF1

  • JJ gets the tag

  • EJax & Whitehair are cut. Mooney is let go.

With that, I think the Bears have 6 main holes to fill this offseason (in no particular order).

  1. QB1

  2. C

  3. WR2

  4. DE2

  5. FS

  6. 3T

A few thoughts on this…

  • Bears can likely fill 2 of these spots with the first round rookies. If by chance they trade back, they’ll likely recoup a high 2nd that can immediately contribute.

  • This is a strong draft at the top for QB, WR, OT

  • The FA class (pending) has some great names at WR, S and DL. Bears will have close to $90m in cap to spend (again).

    1. QB1 - Keep Fields

    2. C - Cushenberry

    3. MHJ (1st round pick)

    4. Jared Verse (1st round pick). Don’t see Poles spending another $20+ million on a free agent edge rusher. If you look at what he’s done, he has one premier player at each level of the defense (assuming JJ gets extended).

    5. FS - Antoine Winfield Jr. and add another in the draft (4th Round Pick)

    6. 3T - ride with Dexter and let him continue to develop, and add another DT in the draft to replace Justin Jones (4th Round Pick)

    7. G - (3rd round pick) still need a solid back up guard to push Nate Davis and depth with Tevin’s injury history

    QB: Williams/Maye (first rounder 1)

    C: idk, free agency or draft but doubt we get Cushenberry.

    WR2: 2nd round WR like AD Mitchell, Troy Franklin,… (requires a trade for a second rounder) or just FA

    DE2: Latu/Turner/Verse/Chop (first rounder 2 because Edge is much more valuable than WR2)

    FS: draft/FA (not to deep into the safety market outside of Winfield)

    3T: Dexter/Pickens

    Your offseason plans can go fuck off. Keep Fields. Extend Mooney or at least franchise tag. Pick up MHJ and either an Oline or DE. With that, we’d have an elite WR1 and WR2 and it would allow Mooney to be a true WR3 and make the field his bitch

    Plus, I would love Bienemy or Flores as our next head coach. I do like Harbaugh, I just liked what Flores did in Miami with a below average roster and an unproven Tua
