I run a small business from my home, with a small walk-in area for customers to walk in.

I am currently look to install a smart lock for my home, so that my door auto-locks when me and my family leave the house for a short while (example when going to the side of the house to tend to our house dog, or to the back to do some chores etc.).

Inside the house, we usually sit in the counter (some distance from the door) where we work on computer.

We get many visitors so ideally, I am looking for a door that also sell/ integrate with some kind of remote switch which I can press, to unlock the door, a bit similar to the magnetic doors in offices.

Anyone has similar use case or suggestion?

Thank you.

Any smart lock will have the ability to be opened remotely. That is the smart part. But some will be only via their cloud app. Ideally you probably want a local solution. If so, avoid any WiFi options.

There are plenty of non-smart electronic locks that allow you to have a wired remote release.

I’ve had a Trilogy T3 in my house for 2 decades. It is a keypad lock, not smart. But it has a remote release wire that I connected to a smart relay. This allows me to open my door remotely without having to trust that some lock company got their digital security right when eve big tech companies fail.
