For those asking for progress I am showing something. I understand we are all tired of this conversation but I want to hear the counter arguments.
Progress but not perfect. I think there is plenty of room to grow and he does have a fumble problem. I also think the scheme would destroy most QBs in the league.
Do I know if he is the guy? No I don’t know. But I am seeing growth.
To me the ultimate question is do you trust him when you are down by 4 with under 2 minutes to play? Last week he made a great throw in clutch time, but historically he has been bad in that situation. I am not willing to say he is washed, but I need to see him do that multiple times to close out the season.
If he can’t win, they should move on. I really, really want him to be that guy but he just seems to not have that finishing instinct.
Do you think he has it in him to do what Lawrence did against San Diego in the playoffs last year? I just don’t see it. I see him topping out at Geno Smith level which isn’t bad, but probably won’t win a Super Bowl for you. He should have been the #2 pick in that draft, but compared to Lawrence he is average.
