Help I think my phone is being tapped. I’m very well aware that the iPhone is the most common smart phone that people use, but I think my phone is being tapped. I have very few friends or followers, so i often talk to myself. I’m not a very loud person, but it always seems like everyone knows what I’m thinking. Nothing feels natural to me. Pictures that I haven’t posted on the internet, it’s as if everyone’s seen them or something. I’m grown in my late 20s but I feel like there’s some type of parental controls on my phone. I pay my own phone bill. Sometimes even when I work a job, coworkers make smart slick comments to me even though I don’t talk to them outside of work. I’ve tried turning off my phone location. I can’t tell if there’s a camera on phone that’s recording me or if it’s just an audio thing or both. Can someone help me fix this issue.

Tapping an iPhone is very hard; but as Pegasus showed, not impossible.

As a precaution, Settings --> Privacy & Security --> Lockdown Mode --> Turn on Lockdown Mode. Follow the instructions – all of them. If this does not remedy your problem, it’s you.

One other thing: have you been to another country shortly before this began? The PRC comes to mind. I’ve read advice to take advice take a burner when take a burner when visiting the PRC. I believe it tries to tap into all foreign visitors phones.

If you are not a person of special interest (politician, activist, journalist, or celebrity) for hackers it is very unlikely that your iPhone have been hacked

I’d recommend sitting down and taking a few deep breaths. Close your eyes for a few seconds and take it easy.

It’s incredibly unlikely your phone is tapped.

First, Apple has made it incredibly difficult to do using software. They do not want the scandal of having tappable phones. Just look at the whole AirDrop mess they have.

Second, you’re not important enough for people to want to track every conversation/photo/etc. I’m not either, so this isn’t an insult. The only people that need to worry about these things are people running countries and mutli-billion dollar companies.

You’re going through an episode of anxiety and if you do not want to seek professional help, your best bet to get yourself out of it is to turn off your phone and store it somewhere very far away from you. No amount of reddit questions/comments about iPhones will help you right now.

Even if you were tapped your coworkers would not be the ones to do it so you’re just experiencing delusions and you need to talk to a doctor about it

I really think you should speak the mental health specialist. This sounds like paranoia. I hope you feel better soon. Btw the chance of your phone actually being tapped is practically nil.
