I’m curious - why do you pick iPhone compared to other smartphone brands? (Google Pixel, Samsung, OnePlus, etc.)
(I’m also going to be asking in other phone subs, hope this survey goes well)
Got bored of using Android for so many years. I still switch between iPhone and Samsung and currently I’m using the S23 Ultra, but I might switch back to iPhone because it has USB-C now.
Microsoft decided to kill Windows Phone.
Got good promotions from my carrier and then been getting free upgrades (except tax) every year so why not.
Why not?
Originally the Jobs vision: the minimalist UI that does one thing only.
Sadly iOS is becoming a bit crap in this respect. Settings is a mess.
It just works and I don’t have to think about it. I don’t have the best camera or anything, but the phone does what it’s supposed to, the UI makes sense to me, and it stays fast and up to date for years. Just a good basic phone for a fairly light user
I used android phones for years. I left an iPhone 4 because I wanted the freedom android offered. I tweaked and did this and that to my phones. Now I just want a phone. I want to call, text, occasionally FaceTime, stream…etc. nothing out of the ordinary.
iPhones just work and do everything they need to. I don’t need custom notifications and whatever else. Just a phone.
I’m one of these serial brand changers. But somehow, keep coming back to Apple. I’ve had Google, Samsung, OnePlus, HTC, Sony etc mostly the flagship models too but always find my way back to iPhone.
I used android for yeaaaaaars. I modded, tried custom firmware etc. just searching to fix the problems and make my phone just work and not be a pc in my pocket. It was fun. I started a new job got given an iPhone 6s… never looked back.
Back in the day, I was a BlackBerry lover. I truly miss their signature design. I used two at that time - First BlackBerry Curve 9320 and BlackBerry Classic.
Then I switched to the Android. But I found the phone less reliable and stable in terms of functionality (should I use the word Eco-system, please don’t punish me.) And as I fell into the Apple eco-system “wall”. I am finding it hard to escape. So for the last couple of years, I have been using iPhones.
The first few generations it was because it was the best phone on the market by a long shot. Now it’s just the ecosystem, familiarity, and aesthetics for me. I’d lose so much connectivity with my many other Apple devices if I switched that it just doesn’t make sense for me to leave. Plus it’s still a top tier phone that meets all of my needs, except battery life.
I had an Android, but started to hate the OS and all its little quirks, while finding that I wasn’t taking full advantage of customisation anymore. Other issues like battery life cropped up, and I decided I wanted a phone that would last me more than a couple of years. I plan to keep my 15PM for a long time.
Been using iPhone for over a decade now. I’m used to iOS and I like making things easier for me. Never was a fan of customisation. I just want a phone that’s simple and that just works.
To take pics of my little children
I use both iPhone and Samsung Galaxy
