Can you argue it’s unfair to non western religions like the above commenters? Yes and probably should. But what you said is wrong. They are not “banning something so petty like the hijab”.

I see no point in doing something so stupid like this, why not ban cigarettes instead of discriminating for wearing a piece of clothing?
