Normally I’d say fuck ALL the outside noise. All these hot takes from talking heads and drunk arm chair quarterbacks is worthless speculation and hindsight.

When it comes to Getsy’s distrust in Fields and ridiculous reliance in screens I’d wish some outside noise would get through because obviously nobody at Halas Hall has gotten through to him.

To me he’s a saboteur still on Green Bay’s payroll.

As difficult as it is to defend Getsy I’m going to do my best. Did you see the other plays that Fields dropped back on? He will not cut it loose. He has so much potential and either can’t read defenses or, actually that is the only reason you would not throw to open receivers. It’s either 50 screens or take 15 sacks a game

There were a few plays where he didn’t throw it fast enough, true. But far a majority of his dropbacks he had Vikings players in his face within 2 seconds. I’m not a Fields stan, but I shade towards hoping he can put it together a bit better. Getsy ain’t the one that gets Justin there.

The fact that Getsy seemed to trot out the exact same gameplan against MIN as he did in their first meeting is a fireable offense. It’s as if he thought “Well, they blitzed the hell out of us and everyone else they’ve played, maybe this time they’ll sit back and let us run 100 screens!”

Screen plays are how you beat the blitz though. The Bears just don’t execute them well enough to keep defenses honest.

This is absolutely true. There are many issues with the Bears offense and not all on Fields, of course. When you have blitz coming you either throw a screen or go over the top, or a hot route to the outside, for example. The problem with the bears is execution but mostly winning your 1 on 1 fucking matchups. If they blitz someone, often more than one will be 1 on 1 but we rarely win those matchups and it’s fucking infuriating.
