I’d like to turn my ceiling light on/off verbally. I don’t want a clapper or Siri/Alexa solution. But my Google search came up empty. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
You could go Lutron Caseta if the remote is a suitable substitute for voice, otherwise you’re looking for an old Clapper.
Your “no Siri/Alexa solution” requirement needs clarification. Are you just trying to avoid Alexa and Siri specifically, or you don’t want to use a voice assistant at all?
Depending your requirements, the answer can change from “the thing you’re looking for doesn’t exist” to “just use another voice assistant that’s not Siri or Alexa”.
Home assistant local voice control.
How techy are you? I’m running home assistant with local voice control but it takes some work to set up
I watched a YouTube video about Home Assistant with Local Voice Control and found it far more capable and complex than what I needed. I’m simply looking for The Clapper with voice command from a wall light switch.
You could build your own using a seeed studio respeaker and raspberry pi however if you aren’t comfortable with custom development of hardware and software it would be a challenge. https://www.seeedstudio.com/ReSpeaker-4-Mic-Array-for-Raspberry-Pi.html
