Hi,

My house has no smart home features at present. I have 5 AC units in various rooms, which are all controlled by a panel on the wall (different panel in each room for each unit) - pretty basic controls - temperature and Auto or 1/2/3 speed. There is no remote control .

is there any easy way for me to make these units “smart” in that I can control them from my phone? I see a product like Sensibo, but I dont understand how I pair that to my control unit or how it would work.

Thanks

I’m not sure what type of units these are, but I’m not sure NEST/Ecobee would be the best for these… but maybe?

Mesa might be the best alternative. I used them in my baseboard heated office, and it works great.

We need more information on your HVAC system. It sounds like you may have mini splits, but I’m not entirely certain.

What you are talking about could be very different from a standard setup which means typical things like Nest may not work. Could you post some pictures of the a/c units, thermostats, and wiring behind the thermostats?

What you need are smart thermostats. It sounds like the hard part will be finding smart thermostats that work with your particular units.
