Judging by what I was seeing around town yesterday and today Paul Brown Stadium is likely to have quite a few Steelers fans present. I’d bet that’s partially because a lot of tickets hit the aftermarket and dropped in price after the Burrow injury, but I digress. It does however bring up one of the biggest conundrums in my sporting fan life:
Pittsburgh fans at games in Cincinnati are easily some of the most disgusting and foul people I’ve ever encountered in my entire life. They are the type of people who will go out of their way to talk trash, spill beer, and say obscenities at children. However, I’ve been to two Bengals games in Pittsburgh and found their home fans to be some of the kindest and most helpful to visiting fans of any road stadium I’ve been to. Heck, I found Pittsburgh fans in Pittsburgh were nicer and more hospitable to me than Bengals fans ever were towards me in Cincinnati.
It’s really wild. I do not understand.
