Hey guys idk if this falls under iphone or its based on sim but here it goes…
One day scrolling on tiktok i came across a guy talking abt disabling data in that even when you turn on mobile data normally on iphone it wouldnt use data with pay as you go rates
I didnt need data before so i never bothered with any data plans or saw myself using in the foreseeable future but now i need it and i cant find the code i thought i had in my notes app nor can i find the video or one alike
The method in the video showed a telephone code (* some numbers then #)
And no my carrier doesnt know what im talking abt🥲 (i reside outside the US btw)
Really hoping someone knows what im talking abt and can assist😭

It was probably a hoax. There’s been a ton of hoax videos on TikTok about “hidden codes” that supposedly “unlocks hidden features” or “lets you know if your phone is hacked” with instructions on entering certain codes into the dialler in order to bring up text that most people don’t understand.
None of these claims are actually true. The codes they tell you to enter are general carrier diagnostic codes and don’t actually do what the TikTok videos claim. They’ll bring up some diagnostic information that the general user won’t understand and the videos trick people into thinking the text means something else.
