Here’s the original post, but for anyone who doesn’t have FB I’ve pasted it in (just need to credit the OP). https://www.facebook.com/groups/257126908913582/permalink/1023950198897912/
People get caught up on that “300 yds passing” number WAAAAY too much!! Try looking at other things like:
(Stats)
COMPLETION %
QBR
“TOTAL” YARDS GAINED
Intangibles
COMMAND OF THE OFFENSE
📷ARM STRENGTH/ACCURACY
ATHLETICISM
CONFIDENCE
TOUGHNESS
Etc! Etc! Etc!
Question?? TERRY BRADSHAW!! One of theee winningest QBs in NFL HISTORY!! 4 Super Bowl Rings!! League MVP! First Ballot Hall of Famer!!
Do you know how many 3000 passing yard seasons he had in his FIRST BALLOT HALL of FAME career??
Go ahead…Take a crack at it!
TWO📷📷📷📷…
In his 14 year career!!
And do you know what passing for 3000 yards in a season comes out to???
187.5 yards PER GAME passing!!
📷📷📷📷📷📷📷
READ THAT AGAIN📷📷📷
And this ALL TIME GREAT only surpassed 3000 yds/season TWICE in his illustrious career!!
Annnd the year he won LEAUGE MVP!! WAS NOT ONE OF THEM!!
Why do you think all of this was possible??? Because HIS TEAM (Pittsburgh Steelers) HAD THE TALENT AROUND HIM📷📷📷
In the NFL…ONE MAN can NOT impact a team of 53 moving parts!! At least NOT impactful enough to single handedly bring a championship! Perhaps it could be done in the NBA or a sport with 10,11,12 guys on a team…
But NOT a team of 53 men!! And NOT a sport where (in the case when we’re on defense) HE ISNT EVEN ON THE FIELD FOR HALF THE GAME!!!
Although NOT Quarterbacks the following two players were NO DOUBT the BEST players on their respective teams and arguably the GREATEST OF ALL TIME (League Wide) in their respective positions!!
Dick Butkus & Walter Payton!
Walter Payton had TWO measly “Wild Card” appearances in 8 YEARS prior to finally breaking thru in 1984 and then on to the Super Bowl in 1985…!!!
Dick Butkus!!!
NEVRRRRR📷📷Saw the playoffs! Like…EVA! EVA!
Why? Because no matter HOW “GOAT STATUS” they were…Football is a different animal…!! You need 52 other guys! REGARDLESS of position!
This is the formula people
📷📷📷📷📷
GET A PROVEN “COMPETENT” COACH AROUND THIS MAN!!
(i.e Jim Harborough)
SURROUND THIS MAN WITH MORE TALENT!
(i.e Marvin Harrison Jr)
SHORE UP HIS PROTECTION
(i.e, Fashanu or Alt at Left Tackle PLUS Sedrick Van Pran/Center- Georgia)
SOLIDIFY THE PASS RUSH/DEFENSE with existing Cap Space (i.e Christian Wilkins/DT & either Brian Burns/DE OR Chase Young/DE)
FILL IN A FEW MORE HOLES
(i.e Cooper DeJean/Iowa at Free Safety plus a little more depth in the trenches on both sides of the ball…)
CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT of THESE EXISTING PLAYERS!
(VERY Important!!!)
• Teven Jenkins
• Darnell Wright
• Braxton Jones
(If we choose to roll with him at LT)
• JuQuan Brisker
• Kyler Gordon
• Tyrique Stevenson
• Gervon Dexter
• Zacch Pikens
• Roschon Johnson
• Tyler Scott
• Jack Sanborn
RETAIN Jaylon Johnson & Darnell Mooney
And lastly!!! Justin’s continued growth & improvement! As he has UNEQUIVOCALLY shown this season and in his last 5 or 6 outings!
Has it equated to WINS? Not yet but if we stay the course and implement the above formula 📷…it will undoubtedly lead to MASSIVE SUCCESS!!
THISSSS IS HOW YOU BUILD!
NOT starting from SCRATCH with a new (UN-proven) ROOKIE QB…!!
**** See Bryce Young!

Caleb Williams 10000% gives me Bryce Young vibes (especially when he goes against RANKED competition!)
Anyway! My vote is to stick with #JF1
Thanks for listening! 📷
So the 1970’s and 1980’s the nfl offenses were mostly ran out of a typical I formation.
Or 2 WR, 1TE, 5Line, QB, FB, HB.
It was still a game based on runs where the common plays were slants, sweeps, traps, and counters.
4-5 wide receivers was gimmicky and used for Hail Mary’s
With that said I am still think you can build around Fields. Unless someone has a combine like Stroud did.
