I’ve been thinking about how all androids tend to give off a weak brand. I know many people like samsung, but I always think of them as cheap (I’ve had galaxys before).

I don’t care about whether they are premium or not, I am interested in what the brand invokes.

When I think iphone I think quality, does any android brand give you this perception? I was thinking Sony, what do you think?

Yeah Sony gives me the premium “apple-esque” vibe, maybe even more so than apple itself. It was always known for their high end xperia lines and their still pretty damn premium (like 2k)

OP is asking for opinions on what we THINK is a premium brand and then shitting all over that brand for not being premium enough or not having cool enough commercials 😂😂

It depends on what lens you’re viewing this through. Apple only has such a strong stranglehold in the US and Canada in my experience. I moved from the states to Australia and almost nobody that I know has an iPhone here, and a lot of people seem to dislike Apple.

The Pixel and the Galaxy S series of phones would be the high end name brands on Android. Xiaomi is trying to add themselves to that group as well. We will see if they succeed.

I’ve held the new latest Sony models and they feel really premium in hand. It’s sad that Sony has been pretty understated with their marketing.

Yeah it’s true but to be honest I think they are just trying to keep it profitable.

Nobody is going to see a Sony phone ad and then drop 2k on it. The enthusiats know about it whether there is an advertisement or not. Olus not to mention their youtube exposure. For example I think a video on Sony phones have like 5 times as many viewers as there are sales for their phones 🤣

I’ve not considered which android phone I consider premium in over a decade. I simply haven’t thought about it. Last time I did… it was an HTC phone. But that was a LOOOOONG time ago.

Sony and Samsung. HTC is also a premium brand, but then again, they aren’t focused on building Android devices anymore. The same goes with LG. Sadly, the Android market is filled with Chinese companies which I don’t consider premium.

I moved to iPhone full time when HTC left the Android scene. I believe HTC still makes Android devices, albeit in very limited quality and on the lower end in very select markets. HTC made such classy looking phones with awesome ui skin. When I think of HTC, i think weather widgets.

Yeah, that’s one of the key reasons why i switched to iPhone. What ever the size, quality and iOS is great. One phone though is Pixel. It does mimic the quality, but whenever I download some app which is 1gb it crashes
